RIISS00061 - Traffic Management Implementer Skill Set for High Volume Roads (TM12)

Course Overview

The TMI skill set provides the skills and knowledge required for those responsible for traffic management implementation on Temporary Traffic Management Category 2 environments (High Volume Roads) as described in the Austroads Guide to Temporary Traffic Management.

Geared towards individuals seeking approval through South Australia’s Department of Infrastructure and Transport (DIT), these skill sets are designed for those responsible for the effective implementation of traffic management plans in Category 2 environments, aligning with the guidelines provided in the Austroads Guide to Temporary Traffic Management.

 

Course Outcomes

The TMI2 skill set consists of 2 units of competency:

  • RIIBEF301D Run on-site operations
  • RIIWHS304 Implement traffic management plans on high volume roads

Successful participants will receive a Statement of Attainment, confirming their accreditation with a TMI2 TTM Card, issued by the Department for Infrastructure and Transport (DIT) South Australia.

Please note, those completing TMI2 can not control traffic using the applicable signs and devices. Further training is required. Further information please contact Civil Train here.

 

    Course Duration

    This course is two (2) days face-to-face:

    • One (1) day of training and one (1) day of assessment which includes three setups based on relevant Traffic Management Plans and Traffic Guidance Schemes

     

    Entry Requirements

    • Successful completion of RIISS00060 Traffic Management Implementer Skill Set for Urban Streets and Low Volume Rural Roads; and
    • At least one month experience applying skills and knowledge relevant to the above-mentioned skill set in a temporary traffic management workplace; and
    • Providing evidence of relevant experience setting up at least 12 temporary traffic management types including high speed roads or high-volume roads, and at least two of the following types:
      • pedestrian and cyclist controls
      • construction sites
      • lane closures
      • shoulder closures
      • night works
      • use of portable traffic control devices
      • motorways or freeways.
    • Employed where road traffic management is a regular requirement
    • Must be 16 years or older
    • Must hold the CPCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry or its equivalent unit
    • Ability to read, write and speak English fluently

     

    Delivery & Assessment

    This course is delivered and assessed face to face.

    There are theory and practical training and assessment components to the course.
