Course Overview

This unit covers skills and knowledge required to identify manual handling requirements of a work function, use manual handling aids to lift or move items and identify and assess manual handling risks.

This course is delivered in line with the National Code of Practice: Hazardous Manual Tasks

Course Outcomes

  • On completion of the course you will be able to
  • Participate in processes to identify and assess manual handling
  • Contribute to manual handling risk minimisation Plan and conduct manual handling

Course Duration

This course is full day (8 hours) in duration.

Entry Requirements

ALL LEARNERS WILL BE REQUIRED TO PROVIDE PHOTOGRAPHIC IDENTIFICATION UPON ARRIVING FOR THEIR COURSE

Entrants will need a level of language and literacy skills to enable them to meet the requirements of the course.

Civil Train recommends year 10 school completion or equivalent as a guide to the level required for short courses.

Delivery & Assessment

This course is delivered and assessed face to face.

There are theory and practical training and assessment components to the course.

Location

Public courses are scheduled frequently at Civil Train SA offices in Thebarton and Regency.

Manual handling can also be delivered regionally.

Civil Train can come to your worksite (SA, WA, NT) to deliver – please contact the relevant office for a quote.
